Question: Actually i am a filipino because i have no idea with that can you help me with it?
Actually i am a filipino.I have no idea with that can you help me with it?
Answer: i'll answer it the way you asked me.

Maka-Diyos, Makakalikasan,
Makatao at
Makabansa

I pledge my allegiance
To the flag of the Philippines
And to the country it represents
With honor, justice and freedom

Subject: Can someone translate this song from Tagalog?
Question: http://www.lyricsdownload.com/carol-banawa-panunumpa-lyrics.html
Thank you.
Answer: Panunumpa is actually the act of making a promise. This is how i interpreted the song:, it's not poetic though:
I promise you are the only person that I will love
This is my promise to you forever
Embrace each minute that passes
My life to you i promise to offer
My fears on this lifetime promise will banish
I promise you are the only person that I will follow
In this enlighted path
Embrace each minute of the day
My life to you i promise to give
My fears will banish
because I have you as my strength
You are my love
You can be sure I'll be loyal to you
Even if my heart feels lonely
You will still be the one
I promise youa re the only person that I will love
This is my promise to you forever
Embrace each minute that passes
My life to you i promise to offer
My fears on this lifetime promise will banish
My fears will banish
because I have you as my strength

Subject: help with fillipino translation?!! really easy! :)?
Question: hi,
does this make sense:
sa taong may tunay na hiya ang salita ay panunumpa?
does it mean: to a person who has true humility.
and wat is: from your number one friend and fan
thanksss!!
Answer: Hmm... the quotation seems very deep, but I'll try anyway.
==
"To a person who has true humility, a word is an oath."
From your number one friend and fan...
==
"Mula sa iyong masugid na kaibigan at tagahanga..."
I hope this helps.

Subject: about church of christ or iglesia ni cristo...? for filipinos..?
Question: why is it that they don't eat "dinuguan" or a food that contains blood??
do they have more things that they can't do??
is it true that they can't attend prom??
do they sing the national anthem??
do they recite the panunumpa sa watawat??
what else do they don't do??
please answer back...
thanks!! as many as you can!! and please give me the reason why can't they eat or do these things... thanks!!
Answer: Just a side note: there is a fairly large group with several thousand congregations in the US and elsewhere that goes by "churches of Christ" which are locally independent, "non-denominational" churches and are NOT affiliated with this Filipino group in any way... just to avoid confusion.

Subject: please give me songs that can be sang(female vocals) at a wedding..?
Question: ballads.. pop.. rock.. any genre.. just a love song.. for weddings..
like:
If i believe - Patti Austin
From this Moment - Shania Twain
and some local love songs in the Philippines like Panunumpa by Carol Banawa..
THANKS!
Answer: If you have a good vocalist (not your mediocre best friend to sing) and a decent pianist, a few that I have sung at weddings over the years:
"At Last" by Etta James
"I am Your Angel" by Celine Dion and R Kelly (can be adapted to a solo)
"From This Moment" by Shania Twain
"Candle on the Water" from Disney's "Pete's Dragon"---don't laugh its a beautiful song. My mother sang it at her own wedding in '81!
"I Swear" by John Michael Montgomery (redone into a pop version by some boy band later)--may need to be transposed to a higher key for a female
"Beautiful in My Eyes" by Joshua Kadison-may have to transpose.
It sounds kind of corny, but a lot of people have had "Sunrise, Sunset" from "Fiddler on the Roof" sung or played when the mother of the bride is seated.
If you search the internet for wedding music, you can browse through some music books especially for weddings and you might find something that way. Your musicians, if they've played/sung weddings before, should consult with you and give you suggestions as well. In addition, if it's a church wedding, some ministers/pastors/priests do not permit "secular" or "pop" music to be sung at church.
Here is a link that will take you to the song list of one songbook. There are plenty others to look at as well.
I hope this helps, and good luck!

Subject: What is highschool like in the Philippines?
Question: particularly those around Metro Manila. Thanks!!! :)
Answer: I went to a public high school with about 5,000 students. We were grouped into sections, based on your grades during the previous year. Most had around 50 students in them, but pilot sections had 40 students. We wore school uniforms and ID's, which had to be on display all the time. On the first day of classes, usually your class adviser will tell you the requirements for that school year and what to donate for the classroom. Often, there are no lockers, so you have to carry a heavy bag filled with notebooks and textbooks for your classes during a particular day. In many English classes, teachers like to implement a "Speak in English" policy, to train the students to be good in the language. A class monitor would be assigned to list the names of those caught speaking in the dialect, and to collect the fine from them.
Most often, students are assigned seats in the classrooms. Depending on the teacher, you'll either get your permanent seat depending on which seat you were seated at during the time of filling up your name on the seat arrangement chart, or you may also be asked to seat in alphabetical order. But if you have special needs, you can request a change of seat. The usual subjects taken at school were Math, Science and Technology, English, Filipino, Technology and Home Economics, Music-Arts-& PE, Values Education, and Social Studies. In 3rd/4th year, we also had the optional Journalism class. During 4th year, we had Preparatory Military Training as well.
Every morning, all students gather around the flag pole for a flag ceremony. The national anthem is sung while the flag is being raised. After the national anthem, sometimes, we have to recite the Panunumpa sa Watawat (Pledge to the Flag?...) and sing either Ako Ay Pilipino (I Am A Filipino) or our Alma Mater Song. That's usually around 7:15 in the morning, because the earliest classes start at 7:30 am and end at 4:00 or 4:30pm.
In August, there's usually the Philippine Language Week, celebrated with a bunch of contests in Filipino language. These contests include declamation, folk dances, interpretative dance, vocal solo, vocal duet. In our school, we had our intramurals or sports fest in September. That usually takes two or three days, though in other schools, it takes up to a week. I used to join the basketball team, which was fun for me because not only was I able to play, but I was also able to meet and befriend players from other sections.
Every two years, the Philippine Mathematics Olympiad is held, while on alternate years, the Philippine Physics Olympiad is held. I was lucky to be able to join both. Winners got certificate and trophies. Then we also got to represent the province at the regional level of the contest. Again, despite all the extra time we needed to spend for reviews, it was fun because we got to go to another province (contest venue) for free, and we were even given pocket money by the province.
Aside from that, there are also other contests/activities in the school. Often, each month is sponsored by a different department, such that there would be ongoing activities or celebrations every month. For example, the English dept would sponsor a month, then there would be Speech fest, literary contests, essay writing contests, Spelling quiz, etc, for that month. If the Science dept would sponsor, there would be science fairs, quiz bees, essay contests about a science topic, etc.
At Christmas, there would be a school Christmas program, filled with lots of musical items, etc. Then, there would also be a day appointed for the individual class Christmas parties. It doesn't matter what religion you belong to, because students are taught to respect one another's beliefs, and you'd still be welcome to join the party. For the Christmas party, students don't wear uniforms but don their best attire. Often, students contribute some money for the food and other expenses for the party. Also, different students may be assigned to prepare whatever dish. Christmas parties are held in the daytime, and it is always a non-alcoholic activity. There'd be a program where you'll have presentations, games and one of the highlights would be the Kris Kringle, or exchanging of gifts.
In February, there's the prom for the junior and senior students. You don't need to have a date for the prom, as you can just go with all your friends/classmates. There's a cotillion, so if you love to dance, you can join this. Teachers prepare this in advance and sometimes hire a dance instructor or another able dance teacher to teach/rehearse the students for the cotillion, so it's good if you don't know the ballroom dances, because you get to learn them for free. :-)

Answer: Carol Banawa - Panunumpa
Ikaw lamang ang pangakong mahalin
Sa sumpang sa'yo magpakailan pa man
Yakapin mon'g bawat sandali,
Pangakong walang hanggan
Ikaw lamang ang pangakong susundin
Sa takbo sakdal, liwanagan ang daan
Yakapin mong bawat sandali,
'Pagkat taglay lakas mong angkin
